” I have attended three annual camps, a Level 3 Prac camp and a virtual level 3 Prac camp : Every event seems to offer me so much whatever my level of competence and the more I study the more I absorb from each event, adapting to the needs of my clients becomes easier but this training is a high level art and I look forward to more opportunities to gain practical experience. “—Donald Cameron, Emerald Qld AUS, L4 KSI Coach
“So great to hear that the KSI Annual International Camp is back! While not happening in person, based on my experience as a L6 coach who has done several virtual KSI camps in 2020-2021 I know this is going to be a mind-blowing learning opportunity. I’d like to compare this unique annual event with painting a room. Let me explain. Every time I attended the camp I discovered a few things:
- What I already know (parts of the room that are already painted).
- What I don’t know (parts that I still have to paint).
- What I thought I knew but haven’t mastered yet (spots that need a second or third layer).
- What I don’t know and were not even aware of (parts of the room that were “blind spots” but now I can see that they are not painted). At the annual camp you get to meet the best painters – I mean coaches – of the world.
Through the years I have learnt (and am still learning) from all the higher-level coaches. Not only from Ian. But even the best and longest serving coaches will tell you that they’ve never been to a camp without learning something new. More than just “something”. There’s so much to learn and I’m not only talking about sets and reps but the truly holistic education KSI has to offer. Yes you get to learn more about training, winning and loosing,…
But every camp I also learnt so much about improving my personal financial situation, creating more time freedom, improving my business skills, becoming a better coach and a better person. Even a better father (I will always remember Ian saying at one of my first camps: “Your children need your time. And quality time is just an excuse for people who don’t have quantity time. Children need your quantity time.”)
A KSI camp is a safe environment. You don’t have to be perfect. As a matter of fact, you will learn most by making “mistakes”. As the late Jim Rohn would say: “You don’t have to be great to start but you have to start to be great.” The KSI Annual Camp is a great place to start!”—Dave Cerpentier, Belgium, Level 6 KSI Coach
I was first exposed to Ian & KSI teachings at a seminar back in 2015. The value I got from that seminar, as both an athlete & a coach, was so immense, practical & beneficial, that it convinced me to embark on my KSI coach education journey. In 2017, I qualified in time to attend the KSI annual camp at Park City, Utah.
It was at this annual camp that I quickly realized what I was exposed to at the 2015 seminar was just the tip of the iceberg. My learning experience at camp was truly positive & enriching, where I realized that there is no one fixed way of coaching, training, or planning a program. I gained a better understanding of individualization in training & coaching, and a significant appreciation & acceptance of trusting in my own intuition, all of which benefited me as both an athlete & a coach.
Nevertheless, the greatest value that I gained from camp, was the learning & feedback I gained from real world practical coaching experience in both one to one & group coaching settings.”—Tze Wei Tzu, Malaysia, L4 KSI Coach
Coaching live and getting feedback on my execution was priceless. It was uncomfortable, but growth is outside the comfort zone. Camp is not a place where training theories get regurgitated. Imagine studying the manual of a material art style, but never actually having to battle test it. Now imagine you going into a material arts camp where you can actually test what you’ve learnt, without killing anyone. Your ego might be bruised if what you learnt doesn’t deliver, but at least you are in an environment where it’s safe for you to fail. Then you can go on and improve your craft. Hope to see you in camp!--Vic Chan, KSI L6 Coach, Singapore
It was when I came to the KSI Annual Camp in Park City – and in subsequent camps – that I discovered some things that I didn’t know. And each camp brings something more to add, and to be mastered!—Remy Delphin, KSI L6 Coach, France
I have been a physical prep coach for 15 years and have been consistently training myself for over 20. Having gone through almost every certification on the planet, there is nothing that even comes close to the knowledge and experience you will gain from doing the Level 3/4 camp, and beyond. It is nothing short of life changing. If you want to truly help people train, and yourself…attend camp!–Greg Hazard, KSI L6 Coach, Los Angeles USA
I started in the personal training industry in 2000. I was eager to learn so I read everything I could get my hands on, did every possible cert and attended as many seminars as possible in an attempt to improve. Every time I was left confused and unable to perform at the level I knew I was capable of. This went on until 2009 when I went to an Ian King seminar. From that point on, I’ve had a clear path and I’ve been fulfilling my potential in life, and not just from a physical prep perspective. It’s one thing to attend the seminars, watch the dvd’s and read the books. It’s a whole new ballgame attending the camps due to the fact that they allow you to put everything you’ve learned together and receive a real world experience in a safe learning environment. Every time I’ve done a camp, I’ve come out better and my life has improved as a direct result of it. Bottom line. The more camps you attend, the better you’ll be. Have fun!—Jon Hazard, KSI Graduate Coach, CA, USA
I remember doing my first in person 3-4 camp in 2016 like it was yesterday. Clueless, naive and immature, little experience in the field, but deep down I wanted to learn, be better professionally, and train my own body safely and get results. I wanted to become a better person so I can help others do the same. The camp allowed me to explore, ask questions, and challenged all of my beliefs on training as well as life. I met people from all over the world. I learned to be open to all possibilities. Did it change me? Absolutely! Did I want more? Every year! Will I keep growing and continue to carry those same aspirations? Day in and day out. It was that meaningful to me!!!—Tong Brink, KSI L6 Coach, CA, USA
My first camp was in 2013 which changed not just my coaching but changed me as a person. The experiences you have at camp mean my coaching competency improves every year, which translates into a bigger and better impact on the clients I work with. The type and variety of coaching experiences you get at camp and then the feedback you receive is priceless and something I know that I’ll only get at the KSI annual camp. There is no where else that you will experience the opportunity to work with such a range of sports/age groups etc then receive an incredible level of feedback – it is a real world, safe learning environment! And the learning goes way beyond coaching competence! I have been on a journey of personal development ever since; the financial education for example has changed my mindset and my financial outcomes. Camp is a life changing experience and I love the fact I know every year I know I’ll be a better coach and a better person!—Rob Bennet, KSI L6 Coach, England, UK
