Description
The words ‘buffed’ can mean a lot of things. We go to the gym to ‘get buffed’. To a bodybuilder it may mean to get big and lean. To a powerlifter it might mean to get strong and big. To an Olympic lifter it might mean to get strong and explosive. To an athlete it means getting the strength and shape to optimize their performance. To the average person in a health club it may mean to get lean, muscular and fit.

What others have said
Ian King has gained a great deal of popularity amidst the hard-working and smart-working core of bodybuilders who want a more complete understanding of the “why” and “how come” beneath the surface of muscle building. He gives the student of weight training insight into every practical question he or she would ever ask about getting bigger, stronger and leaner: how to determine the true training effect of working out, how to gauge how long, how often, how many exercises, sets and reps and in what order; training duration, speed and cadence of reps, fatigue and recovery. Like stacking forty-five pound plates on an Olympic bar, The King goes on and on teaching truths and expelling doubts. “Get Buffed” is a muscle builder’s reliable fact reference.—Dave Draper (the ‘Blonde Bomber’)
I actually have an old physical copy of the first Get Buffed! book. I had a friend who was willing to part with it. Honestly its probably the best book I’ve read on the subject of fitness and strength and from just doing the first three weeks in the sample program I’ve been seeing improvements in my physique. I wish I was working out this way my whole life haha. Now that I have Get Buffed! II, I plan to get the Get Buffed part 3 in the future as well. I’m sure it will be a welcome addition to my library!-Thank you.–Isaiah, CAN
Let me share a bit about myself and why I am interested in your books. I am 45 years old and no longer actively involved in bodybuilding. These days, I train only occasionally, as I don’t have the time to dedicate myself fully to it. However, my interest in your books stems from a desire to preserve the knowledge they offer. I want to have them on hand for the future, perhaps for my son, who is currently 10 years old, or even for advising someone else.
When I used to train more seriously, I found your programs to be exceptional and highly effective. It’s truly remarkable that I have not encountered anything similar or even close in quality since then. The results I achieved with your methods were unparalleled. The only aspect I found lacking at the time, if I may note, was more focus on shoulder isolation—programs that could deliver significant improvements in that area. Or perhaps I simply missed those.
Regardless, my primary reason for pursuing your books is to safeguard the unique knowledge you’ve created and to include it in my personal collection. I can confidently say that no one else offers anything as effective or innovative as what you have shared in your articles on T-mag.com.
Thank you once again for your time and for the invaluable work you’ve contributed to the fitness world. Best regards,—Mate B.
